duna
Duna came out of wanting to try eco-sustainable materials and 3D printing at the same time. The lamp was designed around a bulb supplied by iGuzzini.
The guiding idea is light fragmentation: the play of light and shadow happens inside the lamp's own structure, not around it.
material
Working with RiceHouse and Arche3D let us print with a bio-based blend of rice husk waste and natural minerals. Thermoplastic body for lightness, a custom black PLA part for the electronics, a brass plate inside that warms the light and balances the piece.
material:
- rice husk composite (RiceHouse)
- selected natural minerals
- thermoplastic
- black PLA
- brass
process:
- 3D printing (Arche3D)
- University lab project, prototyped
- With Rossella Plantamura, Jessica Sette
- Supervised by Alessandro Pedron, Marco Zito
- In collaboration with RiceHouse, Arche3D, iGuzzini
